Senior Mechanical/HVAC Engineer

This is a senior level engineering position, that works independently and as a part of a team. The Senior Engineer is responsible for the design and engineering of projects, client interface, field work, writing specifications and coordination between trades. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Design, calculations, and coordination of HVAC systems for new construction, renovations, and energy upgrades. (Building types include but are not limited to: healthcare, institutional, educational, commercial, municipal and industrial.)

The Senior Engineer is responsible for conducting work requiring judgment regarding the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria. The Senior Engineer supervises, coordinates and /or reviews the work of other professionals who assist in specific assignments. Responsibilities also include mentoring and training junior staff.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience that demonstrates knowledge and ability required to perform the job)
  • 8+ years of experience in design of HVAC systems required.
  • Proficient with planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating detailed phases of mechanical engineering projects
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as part of responsibility is client management and marketing
  • Advanced level of understanding the mechanical discipline required
  • Advanced level of knowledge of mechanical equipment required
  • Strong knowledge on sustainable design practices
Summary of Additional Skills and Responsibilities
  • Must possess a strong technical knowledge of HVAC designs and calculations
  • Must be able to perform mechanical engineering calculations, analyses, and prepare specifications
  • Perform fieldwork and document existing condition accurately
  • Initiate and develop mechanical engineering drawings from concept through completion for assigned projects in conformance with the requirements, applicable codes, and design criteria established by the project’s discipline Engineer and Client standards
  • Ability to interact with other disciplines, project support groups, construction contractors, vendors and Client representatives
  • Strong communication skills

Senior Electrical Engineer

We are looking for Senior Electrical Engineers with department management responsibilities including, senior level design with assistance of junior engineering staff, of electrical and communications systems for health care, education, commercial, municipal and mission critical projects. Responsibilities also include design of sustainable systems, managing workload for junior engineering staff, training and mentoring of junior engineering staff, including, updating and improving an electrical department manual, assistance with field work and documenting field conditions and attending meetings with Architects and Owners. Coordination with mechanical engineers, assistance with commissioning and energy modeling services and assistance with construction administration services are also required.
